People never believe more than what’s convenient. What they call their faith is just a hook: they hang their hopes on it at the best of times, they hang the bad stuff they do to other folks on it at the worst. And while they worship a god that suits their needs, the real god thrives on their stupid, misdirected love, and does bad, bad things to this world with the power it grants him.
